Location and Times
What is it? How many people are going?
Galileo Events is a convention held in the ibis hotel Stevenage. We are science-fiction and cult themed and aim keep to under 700 people to keep it a calm and easy-going event with an intimate atmosphere with other guests.
When do I have to be there?
The event is open from 9am until 5pm on both days (Saturday and Sunday). We will still be setting up the event before this time, so we cannot allow guests to enter until after the permitted entry time (9am).
How long does Galileo Events run for?
The event opens at 9am and closes on 5pm both days (Saturday and Sunday). The event ends on Sunday at 5pm.
Where is Galileo Events being held?
VENUE – THE FORUM
The event will be taking place at the The Forum, Stevenage. Access is along the side of the Ibis Hotel. The venue is a 5 minute walk from Stevenage Railway Station and is very easy to travel to from all locations.

The convention will take place at The Forum which is attached to the Ibis Hotel – Stevenage Centre.
We will endeavour to secure discounted rooms for Convention attendees.

How do I get there?
The Forum is a 5 minute walk from Stevenage Train Station. Stevenage is on the main East Coast line from London to Peterborough, Doncaster, Leeds, York and Edinburgh making it easily accessible from all parts of the country.
To get to the hotel by car:
From the North, A1(M) Exit at J8, follow A602 to Town Centre.
From Luton, follow A505 to Hitchin, and then Stevenage.
From the South, M25 Exit J23 onto the A1(M) and exit at J7.
Parking is available at the Westgate NCP car park next to the hotel.
In the event that you lose an item of your belonging, please contact any member of staff of Galileo Events (barring the special guests) with a description of what your item looks like or is, and we will do our best to find it for you. Anything we find lying around without an owner will go to lost property in case someone comes to claim it. Any lone suspicious objects or bags will be searched by security for the safety of all persons at the venue before going to lost property.
What bags and props are allowed?
Any type of bag is allowed, including backpacks, but be warned that all bags will be searched before entry for the safety of all persons at the venue.
Replicas of weapons (i.e. guns, swords, knives, bombs) are NOT allowed in the venue and you will be escorted for the building immediately. Please ensure that any prop you bring is made from non-harmful material i.e. plastic. If your prop represents a weapon, it will be checked upon entry for the safety of all persons in the venue.
Security will be present at the venue at all times to protect all persons at the event. They are qualified personnel that will be checking bags and props upon entry, and for any suspicious activity during event-time. If you spot anything that seems suspicious, please don’t hesitate to speak to security, even if you’re not sure if your concern is valid, as it may saves lives.
A first-aid kit will be available at the venue reception as you walk into the Forum. Please speak to any person manning the reception for the first-aid kit and if you need any medical assistance. If you or someone else is seriously injured, please dial 999 immediately and call any member of staff for help. There will always be at least 1 member of staff on site that is trained in first-aid.
Children 12 and under must be accompanied by someone at least 16 yrs of age. If you are separated from your child, please speak to a member of staff, who will do their best to unite you with your child. Children under 3 get in free, and children under 12 get in at a discounted rate. Children 13 and over must pay the adult entry ticket rate.
Harassment is absolutely not tolerated at Galileo Events. If you are being harassed or spot someone else being harassed, please contact a member of staff (preferably security) and they will deal with the issue to ensure that you and other fellow attendees are in a comfortable and safe environment.
Can I take photos or videos in the venue?
We have no problems taking general photos or videos at the con, however please do not take photos or videos of yourself with special guests, as security are asked to make sure you have removed them from your device. Panels can be recorded, however if special guests ask that you do not film or take photos in their panel, please obey their request and put all photography away.

Refunds and cancellation policy
ALL tickets are non-refundable, including entry tickets and guest cancellations on photo-ops and autographs. There is a fair warning before purchasing a ticket that you buy with your own risk, and that buying any ticket means you agree that even if a guest cancels, there will be no refunds. HOWEVER, you are entitled to exchange your photo-op or autograph ticket for someone else, or multiple people if your new ticket cost is lower than the cost of the ticket you bought. (e.g. if a guest photo was £100 and they cancelled, you could exchange the ticket for 2 new ones worth up to £50).
You can also exchange the ticketholder name on your ticket for someone else, please contact email@example.com and forward the confirmation email you received from eventbrite, with the new name of the ticketholder. Please note this will make the old ticketholder name invalid for entry, unless they buy another ticket for themselves.
